One year after the official presentation of the \u201ckiss & go\u00ae\u201d system,Uteco is proud to announce the\u00a0success of 33 systems sold and the full satisfaction of customers owning the 18 already in production\u00a0Initially developed on the ONYX model, the system is now available on the full CI Flexo product line including theTopaz, Diamond, and the newest Crystal models.<\/p>\n
The extensive testing of the system with different production materials makes the final product fully compatible with any type of substrate, or plate material. The accuracy achieved by the automatic impression settings of the kiss & go\u00ae system make\u00a0the processes fully automated without any additional operator input.<\/p>\n
The amount of web\/material necessary for the automatic impression setting by \u201c Kiss & Go\u201d is approximately 140 meters, and can be as low as 40 meters depending on certain production criteria, making it the most efficient such system on the market. The system functionality is broken down\u00a0into two distinct phases:<\/p>\n
TOUCH & GO\u00ae<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n This patented automatic system establishes the first and lightest contact point between plate\/anilox and plate\/CI. The procedure, once selected, initiates automatically once the press is put in run condition\u00a0and proceeds to advance the printing decks until the appropriate contact torque is measured taking into consideration the possible variables of sleeves, carriers, plates, etc… as well as multiple mechanical and temperature compensations. The \u201ctouch &\u00a0go\u00ae\u201d system in essence performs the lightest mechanical \u201ctouch\u201d impression which will serve as the base reference and startingpoint for \u201dkiss & go\u00ae\u201d.<\/p>\n KISS & GO\u00ae<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n Kiss & Go\u00ae is a patented system that performs\u00a0the optical scan of 100% of the printed web and automatically sets the optimal printing impressions. The system performs an actual reading of the printed.surface much like the operator\u2019s eye, but\u00a0then makes use of a mathematical algorithm\u00a0establish the correct printing impression\u00a0settings. The optical scanner is a contrast sensor which registers with extreme accuracy and sensitivity the quantity of ink deposited on the substrate independently of the printed subject.\u00a0The system consists of an extremely compact\u00a0scanning unit mounted between the last printing deck and the drying tunnel, and a main processing unit.
