Decreased chances of score-lines, longer life-time and improved cleaning characteristics are the most eye catching advantages of Apex\u2019 anilox rolls. Co\u00b2 is the standard engraving quality and alternatives are the Apex UltraCell and UltraCell Plus engraving qualities. Apex manufactures all new types of screen developments and specifications.<\/p>\n

Apex has special tools to engrave directly into steel or stainless steel, instead of engraving into softer materials such as copper, which leads to an extension of the lifetime. An even screening over the whole engraved surface of the roll is very important in order to have a constant screen, volume, depth, wall and angle. After the engraving the roll gets a special chrome coating.<\/p>\n

All screens are made to specifica\u00actions, guaranteeing an exact ink release over the whole printing width of the roll. New technologies make it possible for Apex to engrave anilox rolls in screen counts from 6 l\/cm up to 140 l\/cm in 30\u00b0, 45\u00b0 and 60\u00b0 angles. The patterns manufactured are: Quadrangular, Pyramid, Hexagonal, Tri-Helical, Channellox or specials on request.<\/p>\n

In case the diameter is not within the machine manu\u00acfacturer\u2019s tolerances, Apex will build up the diameter of the roll with the AST metalfu\u00acsion treatment in Steel or Stainless Steel, which extends the lifetime of the roll.<\/p>\n

Traditional anilox rolls are becoming more extreme in specifications. Therefore, Apex has invested more than 3 years into the development of the \u201cGenetic Transfer Technology\u201d, a European-patented* (EP 2121339) new technology used to manufacture intelligent metering rolls<\/p>\n

The surface material and the structure are different from a traditional roll and therefore, it is not an anilox roll anymore.<\/p>\n

More printing possibilities than traditional anilox rolls<\/span><\/h4>\n

Using one intelligent metering roll gives more printing possibilities than using any traditional anilox roll. A wider print range can be printed, with less rolls and down time of the machine, creating a better print quality.<\/p>\n
